CALLIOPE GAMMA IRRADIATION PLANT
Innovations and Benefits
The CALLIOPE plant provides ENEA with a unique facility in Italy and among the few ones in Europe with such characteristics in terms of potential and versatility of use (size of the irradiation cell, physical parameters of the source, technical-scientific skills of the staff).
Use
Irradiation service according to specific regulations (ESA, MIL) and release of dosimetric certification (ASTM E 170-76).
Applications and ongoing Activities
Irradiation of components and materials for the aerospace, nuclear and electronics industries. Public (MSE-AdP, University, INFN) and private clients, including CAEN, Galileo, Nucleco, Ansaldo, ABB, Selex, IMT.
