Innovations and Benefits
ENEA has set up innovative procedures and techniques:
- for the physical vapor deposition which also allow to perform tests for the design and realization of optical coatings of materials;
- for the realization of components for electronic and optical instrumentation, also for applications in extreme conditions.
Use
Optical and mechanical characterization of thin film materials and multilayer components. Development of tools for non-standard optical characterization.
Applications and ongoing Activities
Feasibility studies have been carried out,optical filters have been created and measurement methods developed, within the framework of projects financed by the European Space Agency (ESA), MIUR and the European Commission.
