Innovations and Benefits
Using transcritical CO2 heat pumps ensures optimum energy performance with considerable energy saving associated with the use of a cooling fluid completely natural.
Use
Thermal heating and cooling treatments for sanitation (pasteurization), food conservation and production. Studies are underway to assess further potential use in other industrial sectors with similar needs.
Applications and ongoing Activities
A test simulation has been evaluated for an application to ice-cream pasteurization and conservation. Besides, project PA.R.CO2 H.P. (PAsteurization with Reversible CO2 Heat Pump) is under way
