The project provides for technical and scientific consulting, upon request by the World Food Programme, on the development of models to study the climate impact on food crops in Africa.
Such are the methodologies used by the software LEAP (Livelihoods, Early Assessment and Protection project) for drought monitoring and early warning in rural areas of Ethiopia, where ENEA has provided its support during the project design and development.
Additional goal of the collaboration is the preliminary study of LEAP interoperability with the “Africa Risk View” platform for global-scale drought monitoring.
