ENEA is one of the partners in the MED DESIRE project, co-funded by the EU under the 2007-2013 ENPI Cross-Border Cooperation in the Mediterranean Programme, to promote the diffusion of solar energy in the Mediterranean countries, removing all legislation, regulation, economic, technical, and organizational barriers which limit their distribution and exploitation.

ENEA Activities:

as coordinator of Work Package 4 “State-of-the-art Analysis”

  • assessment studies of the solar potential for applications in each of the partner countries
  • analysis of the state of the art in the Mediterranean Basin’s markets and of solar technologies final demand estimate, through a comparative analysis of national and local R&D programmes
  • training and capacity building on legal aspects and EU standards relevant to photovoltaic and solar thermal plants for technicians and institutional operators from the project’s MED partner countries
  • contribution to the editing of technical documents on the harmonization of certification and standard schemes
  • technical and scientific support in working out action plans for a better legislation and regulations.
