The training programme is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in the framework of the initiatives provided for in the plan for “Improving access to sustainable energy to promote the local socio-economic development” under the “Investment Fund for Energy and Sustainable Development (Public-Private Partnership)”. The training course is specifically targeted at the personnel operating in the AICS field offices and is also open to local operators and institutions. It is aimed at increasing the skills and at building capacity of the trainees in defining energy development plans and programmes and outlining intervention and funding proposals with a view to encouraging the sustainable development of local communities by improving and extending access to clean, innovative, affordable and reliable sources of energy.

ENEA Activities:

ENEA delivers training courses (35 hours) at AICS field offices on the development of the energy sector in the recipient countries by dealing in detail with all its regulatory, economic/financial, social, marketing, technological components. The aim is to identify the factors blocking its growth and find possible technological and managerial solutions closely related with the peculiar socio-economic, regulatory and local conditions of the reference contexts. The course also offers basic technical training on the major renewable energy, electrification, clean cooking technologies and energy efficiency systems, along with technical-economic analyses and case studies on their actual applicability, based on the opportunities offered by the local territories where interventions are supposed to be made.
