STRUCTURAL MONITORING OF CIVIL, INDUSTRIAL AND HISTORICAL BUILDINGS
For achieving the objectives
Agenda 2030
ENEA designs and implements structural monitoring systems as a diagnostic tool for new and historical buildings, useful to evaluate their condittion and detect their possible damage .
This technology is particularly sutable for application in seismic areas, where structures and monuments need be protected.
Benefits and Advantages
- Higher quality of buildings, with benefits as to safety and resilience to natural disasters, particularly earthquakes;
- Lower costs for the management of infrustructures and higher safety conditions;
- Safeguard of cultural heritage and related economic benefits.
ENEA Service
- technical support in choosing equipment;
- technical support for data analysis;
- personnel training.
ENEA Activities
ENEA has studied and implemented seismic monitoring systems for civil, industrial and historical/monumental buildings since decades in Italy. Its multi-year experience and know-how is made available to developing countries through transfer technology.
Keyworkds:
Structural monitoring, mode detection, structural health monitoring.
