As part of its development cooperation activities, ENEA is  engaged in the project “Professionals without borders” in Senegal, along with the project leader FOCSIV, the African Engineers Association and the NGOs COMI and CPS.

Funded by the Ministry of the Interior, the project envisages actions in Senegal, Ethiopia and the Ivory Coast to promote the transfer of diaspora's expertises, aimed at the development of their respective Countries of origin. Interventions will be conducted  in the agronomic and energy fields, considered driving sectors for strenghtening the local social and economic fabric and for improving  people’s living conditions. The project will also involve the creation of an online registry office of professionals from Sahelian Africa living in Italy.

As part of the recent mission to Africa, a delegation of partners was received by the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Dakar, the Italian ambassador in Senegal, the Director of Programmes and Projects of the Senegal National Agency for Renewable Energies (ANER) and the representatives of the Kaffrine and Yene Administrations, where photovoltaic-powered drip irrigation systems have been set up.
