ENEA takes over MEDENER Presidency

Dario Chello elected Chair of MEDENER
Dario Chello, Head of Service "European Union and International Organisations" at ENEA, has been elected Chair of MEDENER, the Association of national Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Agencies of the Mediterranean Region.
The General Assembly, held in Marrakech as a side-event of the COP22, elected the Chair for the period 2017-2018.
The MEDENER Presidency Office will be established in Brussels at ENEA premises.
MEDENER is one of the three stakeholders of the Union for Mediterranean (UfM) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Platform, that has been officially launched on Monday 14 November. The cerimony was organised by the European Commission and the UfM in close cooperation. Keynote opening speeches were given by Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete, the Minister of Energy of Morocco, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the vice Minister of Electricity of Egypt, Osama Assram and the Secretary General of the UfM, Fathallah Sijilmassi.
Roberto Moneta, Head of Energy Efficiency Unit, represented ENEA at the cerimony.
The launch of the REEE Platform is an important step towards a strong cooperation among the Countries of the Mediterranean to accelerate the energy transition in the Region.
