Energy: ENEA creates innovative materials for hydrogen storage

6/10/2016

ENEA has coordinated the activities of the project of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) on innovative compounds and nanoparticles improving hydrogen absorption and opening the way to new technological applications for electricity production and storage. The results were published on the “International Journal of Hydrogen Energy

materials for hydrogen storageInnovative compounds and nanoparticles developed with the objective of improving hydrogen absorption and paving the way to new technological applications for storage in motor vehicles, heavy vehicles and boats but also for electricity production in buildings and industries. These were the results of the activities, coordinated by ENEA, of the project COST Action MP1103 on nanostructured materials for solid hydrogen storage (SSHS) published on the  “International Journal of Hydrogen Energy”.

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Action MP1103 is a network comprising 32 Countries and 260 researchers worldwide with the objective of defining innovative ways to store hydrogen through interdisciplinary and state-of-the-art research within the European Research Area. Its ultimate goal is developing innovative materials for energy storage in the energy and transport sectors so as to  support the EU economies in the long term.
