MEASUREMENTS AND TESTING OF ELECTRICAL UNCONVENTIONAL HIGH POWER EQUIPMENT

The test facility allows to verify, in a flexible and reliable way, unconventional electrical equipment with high-accuracy, arbitrary and variable currents up to 45 kA DC for 1s and 25 kA for 3s, through a group of AC/DC converters powered by two Motor Generators MG1 and MG3 with high flexibility waveforms required and available loads.
Use
Acceptance Test at full power equipment such as, e.g., mechanical and hybrid circuit breakers in direct current, AC/DC power converters. Type and routine tests that can be performed on electrical equipment: insulation tests, non-load and load tests.
Applications and ongoing Activities
Acceptance test of “Switching Network Unit” for breakdown of plasma for JT-60SA Tokamak, requested by OCEM Energy Technology Group.
