Innovations and Benefits
The software developed by ENEA helps to obtain higher efficiency and quality of the urban freight distribution service by real-time optimizing loads and routes. Its application allows to reduce operational and delay costs, and to achieve higher control and better traceability of shipments, reducing the impact of urban freight distribution on energy and the environment.
Use
Support to the urban freight distribution centres’ management. The system shows the provider, in real time, the best operative solution to delivery activities even in the case of random freight arrivals and considering the needs of end users (specific delivery time).
Applications and ongoing Activities
Software prototype already developed and tested under simulation of Padua’s operative reality for the urban freight distribution services by Interporto Padua.
