MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION ACTIONS IN THE BUILDING SECTOR: THE MENT BUILDINGS EXPERIMENT
For achieving the objectives
Agenda 2030
The Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea has funded the climate change mitigation and adaptation project under the MoU between ENEA and Botswana. The project is aimed at upgrading two buildings of the Ministry of the Environment in Gaborone, with a final 80% of photovoltaic energy self-production and a 50% decrease in water consumption. Air conditioning will be energy efficient and HFC-free, implementing the Kigali amendment of the Montreal protocol. The building will be equipped with a Li-Ion battery storage device and an electric load management. The project provides for the monitoring and dissemination of the results as an example and drive for citizens to use the best technologies for the reduction of GHG emissions and climate change adaptation.
