Funded by the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea, the project is aimed at encouraging the management of coastal areas by monitoring and protecting the most valuable coastal habitats (coral reefs, mangrove forests and marine phanerogams prairies) from the impacts of climate change and anthropic pressures.

ENEA Activities:
- Satellite imagery interpretation for the digital mapping of the marine coastal habitat of Tonga
- Identification of the marine coastal habitats of coral reefs particularly important and vulnerable
- Monitoring of the habitat’s change
- Design and setting of the protection areas provided for in the project.
