Energy: Confindustria-ENEA Agreement on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability

Increasing end-use energy efficiency and environmental sustainability and improving energy technology innovation to revitalize some industrial sectors and boost employment.

The President of Confindustria Giorgio Squinzi and the Commissioner of ENEA Federico Testa have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for increasing end-use energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and technology innovation through a more direct relationship between research and industry.

The companies associated with Confindustria will have access to the services of advanced testing, qualification and certification of materials, components and systems developed at the nine ENEA research centers; the protocol also envisages the implementation of joint activities for information sharing concerning technology innovation opportunities, particularly in regard to energy and economic sustainability.

ENEA will provide support to Confindustria also in developing scenario and impact analysis of national and Community legislations through the presence of its experts at technical tables on technology innovation, energy and the environment and through the joint participation in European projects, also thanks to the involvement of their respective offices in Brussels.

Confindustria and ENEA will also carry out  communication and training activities designed to raise consumers’ awareness on energy saving and efficiency and a rational use of energy, particularly as regards the benefits of sustainable building.
