Research: ENEA develops a tool for the study of coronary prostheses

ENEA has finalized a tool for the study of new bioabsorbable prostheses for coronary cardiopathy treatment. Created in collaboration with the California Institute of Technology as part of the European Bi-Stretch-4-Biomed[1] project coordinated by ENEA, this tool can expand polymer or composite tubes. This is the first step in their transformation into a cardiovascular scaffold, i.e. a prosthesis capable of keeping an obstructed vessel open, thus restoring arterial blood flow.
