Automotive: Electric supercar Picchio powered by batteries 'made in ENEA'

HIZEV is a sports electric supercar with a modern design, combining environmental sustainability and high-performance. Developed by a consortium of small and medium enterprises led by Picchio Spa and ENEA, which designed the storage system, the car was presented at H2R-Mobility for Sustainability within Ecomondo Expo in Rimini.

Climate: ENEA, research and innovation crucial to low-carbon economy

“It’s necessary to invest on research and innovation to improve and make the transition to a low-carbon economy more profitable, increasingly relying upon those technologies which can contribute to reach this objective”. Technology: circular economy and Italian technological excellence at TECHITALY 2016

The Italian technological excellence will be at the centre of TECHITALY 2016, the event taking place from 29 November to 30 November in Brussels, organized by the Italian Embassy in Belgium and ICE, in collaboration with the Italian Permanent Representation at the EU, the CNR, ENEA, Confindustria and the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce. The theme of this fourth edition is the circular economy, the new production and consumption model proposed by the European Commission in December 2015 with the Package “Closing the loop: an EU action plan for the circular economy”.

Innovation: ENEA among leading members in White House Smart Cities initiative

ENEA is among the members involved in the White House Smart Cities Initiatives, the 80 million dollar investment just launched by the White House. The Agency for new Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development was called by the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), coordinator of the initiative, to be part of a scientific coalition formed by seven institutions of excellence dedicated to developing an Internet of Things-Enabled Smart Cities Framework by summer 2017.
