Energy: ENEA software to cut costs of textile companies presented at Paris fashion hub

20/10/2016

The Software SET, developed by ENEA in support to the Italian textile industry to improve energy efficiency for sustainable production, was presented at Première Vision, the international fashion and textile event in the section Smart Creation, dedicated to promoting sustainable production in textile, a high energy-intensive sector occupying  a crucial position in the European economy.

Salone TessileThe software SET enables companies to monitor and analyse their energy consumption and provides comparative anonymous data of competitor companies through an unprecedented “social” participation mechanism.

SET allows to analyse data and information on both the organizational and technical performances of companies in order for them to evaluate their options and make well-informed decisions to upgrade production processes, also providing information on investments returns etc.

During the meeting Pierluigi Fusco Girard, Innovation Manager of the Marzotto Group, highlighted their commitment to sustainable production and how the project SET has contributed to significantly reducing electric energy and natural gas consumption.

As of today, 150 companies from 11 different countries have availed themselves of this software to implement a strategic approach based on investments for energy efficiency measures and for reducing the cost of energy production.   The Marzotto group has implemented SET in five different European factories and has recommended its use to several companies it collaborates with in a common effort towards a sustainable production.
