The Italian Fusion Research Center is taking shape. The construction of the DTT - Divertor Tokamak Test at the ENEA Research Center in Frascati, the machine that will  test advanced solutions for fusion energy, has entered its operational phase. After the completion of all phases of the project, the COMPANY DTT Scarl was established for its implementation- comprising ENEA, ENI and the Consortium CREATE -  and the first contracts awarded.

Aimed at developing fusion as an inexhaustible, clean and safe energy source, the DTT was strongly desired by Italy to strengthen leadership in a sector deemed as strategic. The project, worth approximately 600 million euro, will be implemented thanks to a financial contribution by the Ministries MISE and MUR, Lazio Region, ENEA and the other partners of the consortium, in addition to the 250 million euro allocated by the European Investment Bank (EIB ) as part of the EFSI funds (Juncker Plan).
