Energy: Launched web platform for low-carbon economy

18/7/2019

Imeas.eu, a web platform designed by ENEA to share experiences and tools to support the energy transition towards a low-carbon economy, has been launched. The new application was created as part of the European project IMEAS (Integrated and Multi-level Energy models for Alpine Space), of which ENEA is leader, to share new planning and implementation tools for the energy policies of the 7 Alpine Space Countries (Italy , France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland and Liechtenstein).

"The Platform is an actual community of people and institutions which, once registered on the site, can access open source tools, guidelines and documentation on issues related to energy and climate, share their results, products and experiences and even promote events and news. The registrations in this first phase see were mostly from Germany, France, Slovenia, Austria and Italy particularly research bodies, energy agencies and institutions but also private citizens ", Roberta Roberto, ENEA researcher at the Department of Energy Technologies and project manager, explained.

Funded with approximately 2 million euro by the European Regional Development Fund, the IMEAS project includes 12 partners [1], implementing a multi-approach for the correct integration of different paths into a perspective multilevel governance for a sustainable regional energy planning.

"We believe that the use of integrated and harmonized methodologies is key in the implementation of effective strategies to reduce CO2 emissions. By sharing tools and information, the platform becomes both an interactive space and a way to promote the dissemination of results from projects and studies, entered by users in various countries, creating a network of users with common interests and skills ", Roberto concluded.
