Energy: New free app to facilitate energy upgrading of condos

Condomini + 4.0 is a new, free application to easily measure energy consumption and structural characteristics of condominium buildings. Developed by ENEA in collaboration with Logical Soft, it is addressed to experts and licensed technicians for the assessment of safety measures, energy upgrading and efficiency improvement.

Condomini + 4.0 allows, on tablets and smartphones, to automate data collection and quickly determine building  classification with an indexed evaluation of the condition and the main energy and structural criticalities. The application also indicates the  level and priority of the interventions to be carried out and the risk factors linked to the territory, environment and climate.

As regards energy, the software provides innovative solutions and packages of interventions with respect to the life cycle and the use of the single residential property,  also tailored to the financial effort.

In fact, several design solutions are envisaged which can be integrated into maintenance processes for each problem encountered. From a structural point of view, the app indicates the main problems found and suggests priorities of intervention, while not providing a seismic vulnerability assessment, which must always be performed in accordance with the current legislation.

"Instead of intervening occasionally for costly repairs or emergencies, this approach makes it possible to plan and manage maintenance interventions efficiently and sustainably. It also creates an opportunity to redesign the overall quality of environments and structures ", Calabrese concluded.

Operating on  iOS and ANDROID platforms and downloadable from the Apple Store and Google Play, the application was developed as part of the campaign Italy in Class A. In order to facilitate its use, ENEA provides a user manual.
