Seismic tests with ENEA shaking tables for two maxi generators from the United States

From the States to the ENEA Casaccia Research Center, two maxi generators to supply emergency power needs in industrial facilities, strategic infrastructures and nuclear plants.

A series of experimental tests were conducted on the two devices provided by the VMC Group in New Jersey (NY) in order to assess their performance in case of seismic events through specific seismic qualification tests carried out at the ENEA Laboratory of Technologies for Sustainable Innovation, headed by Engineer Gerardo Di Canio. The Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art devices, such as a shaking table 4mx4m with six degrees of freedom and a 3D Vision motion capture system for the acquisition of experimental data.
