Marevivo Association has launched the 2013 international contest of ideas “Sole vento e mare per le isole minori e le aree marine protette italiane - Energie rinnovabili e paesaggio[i] together with GSE (Gestore dei Servizi Energetici), ENEA, CITERA (Centro di Ricerca Interdisciplinare Territorio Edilizia Restauro Ambiente) of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea.

Unlike past editions, the 2013 contest directly and actively calls in the minor islands’ municipalities, strongly emphasizing the territorial aspect of this project. ENEA has prepared a specific web questionnaire, aimed at surveying the priority interventions and action fields identified by the minor islands’ municipalities. Giglio, Capri, Ischia, Ponza, Carloforte, Capoliveri, Santa Marina Salina have been the first islands to give their contribution to the project. Harbours, public lighting, buildings, sustainable road and sea mobility, and lighthouses have been identified as possible intervention areas.

Applications are open to architects, engineers, industrial designers, professional enterprises or groups, design companies or equivalent bodies in the several foreign applying countries.

Prizes differ according to each project typology (‘sustainable road and sea mobility’ ‘harbours’, ‘public lighting’, ‘buildings’, and ‘lighthouses’) and will be awarded to winners during a public event in the presence of a jury panel and the contest promoters.

Projects must be forwarded by 30 September, 2013.

Extended until 31 December, 2013
