The ENEA Technical Unit for the Development of Applications of Radiation carries out research, innovation and technology transfer in applied physics, particularly important for optoelectronics, photonics and sensoristics, incompliance. The Unit invests for the development of: laser sensors for diagnostics and optical metrology in the fields of security, environmental protection and cultural heritage preservation; electron and proton accelerators; free-electron lasers and radiation sources (from x rays to far infrared, and Terahertz spectrum region) for industry, bio-medicine, the environment and cultural heritage; micro- and nanotechnologies to produce functional materials and miniaturized devices for telecommunications, particle and radiation detection systems, energy production and bio-medical imaging. Available both in Italian and English, the brochure introduces the Unit, describing its mission, its research, training and dissemination activities, the services it provides, as well as its resources and results (continue...)
