Antonio Palucci of the Technical Unit for Radiation Application Development (UTAPRAD-DIM), and Gaia Righini of the Technical Unit for Models, Methods and Technologies for Environmental Assessments (UTVALAMB) from ENEA are appointed as Italian members of the Independent Scientific Evaluation Group (ISEG) of the NATO Science for Peace and Security programmme. It concerns the evaluation of multi-year project proposals to be funded by NATO for scientific research under specific key priorities (e.g., energy security, cyber defence, environmental security, security-related advanced technology).

The ISEG is composed of two experts from each NATO member State, with acknowledged expertise in selected key priorities. The ENEA participation in the ISEG is not only a valuable distinction but also a strategic opportunity to build international relationships and forms of cooperation.

The appointment remains in force for three years since 2013.
