Italy is the world leading country for number of anti-seismic devices for the protection of heritage buildings. However, “over 70% of the Italian buildings wouldn’t withstand earthquakes that can occur, including schools, hospitals and many other strategic buildings”, as reported in the Special Issue “100 years of Seismic Engineering” of the ENEA journal “Energy, the Environment and Innovation”.
